Flowering Thistles

Saturday, the 21st of June, Elaine and I, went for a drive to in hopes to find something to photograph. We decided to take a short trip to Michigan, which is a mile from our home in Indiana. I thank my wife Elaine Rhodes, for spotted a bunch of these flowering thistles along the roadside, and I feel fortunate I got this shot.

The Tokina ATX-I 100mm F2.8 FF MACRO lens, is what I used to take this photo. Long before I got this lens, I had heard a lot of praise about it, I was searching off and on for a while before found my current copy at a bargain price. The original Images I took on it, I’ve never processed. I can testify the reviews were true, it’s an awesome lens. The specs say the lens is supposed to have a maximum aperture of F/2.8, but It’s actually F/3.2.
